Bal Bahadur KC was born July 17, 1953 in Salyan-3 of Solukhumbu. Son of Lal Bahadur Khatri and Maheshwari KC Khatri, KC began his political career from student movement. He is contesting from Solukhumbu in the CA Election 2013 representing Nepali Congress. In 1971, KC was elected as president of Nepal Student Union, Mahendra Ratna Campus and went on to become the central president of the NSU from 1984 till 1988. He also served the party as secretary of NC, Solu. He was elected as member of the parliament in the first election after restoration of democracy. He won the next two parliamentary elections of 1994 and 1999 from Solukhumbu. He has held several ministries on various occasion including Youth, Sports and Culture Minister in 1997, General Administration and Labor Minister in 2000, and Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister in 2002. NC central member since 1993, KC worked as coordinator of the 1986 civil disobedience movement.
