The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has on Tuesday filed a corruption case at the Special Court against former Additional Inspector General of the Armed Police Force, Rishav Dev Bhattarai. The anti-corruption watchdog has charged Bhattarai of committing corruption worth Rs 19 million 136 thousand 889. CIAA spokesman Ganesh Karki said the case has been filed against Bhattarai as it was found after investigation into his movable and immovable property that his illegal income surpassed legal income. Moreover, the CIAA stated that Bhattarai could not substantiate the legitimate source of the extra income. It has sought recovering fine from Bhattarai equivalent to the amount he has been charged of corruption.
