Karishma Manandhar was born on 9 June 1974 in Jharuarashi, Lalitpur. She did her schooling from Subhatara School. She made her acting debut at the age of 14 from the movie Santaan (2042 B.S) opposite to Bhuwan K.C. Later she tried her luck in Bollywood movie name Danga Fasad in 1990, but the movie was flopped in the Box office. Later she back to Nepal and started her career in Nepali film industry. Karishma Manandhar got married to the well-known film director Binod Manandhar. The couple was blessed with a daughter Kabita. She got Best Actress award in November 2007. She is the most popular actress in the history of Nepali film industry. She has passed 9 months in Naya Shakti Party. She was not forced to join the party. Her daughter told her that she is not for the politics but she join the party her own wish.
